Well my broody hen finally got her foster eggs and she is being such a good girl , she rarely gets off them. My question is once the babies hatch (if they hatch) should I take them away or take mama and babies away... I don't want them pecked to death... Also our nesting box that she is in is an old recycling bin... It has high(ish) sides... Should I try to move her to a bin with much lower sides so no babies fall out?

Oh also do I need to candle the eggs? Or just let it go?
