I'm new to BYC but I've loved chickens (and animals in general) ever since I can remember. My grandparents on both sides of my family have always raised animals, whether it was poultry, pigs, sheep, or goats. When I was 12 my dad brought home some chickens as we live in the rural side of my city and I fell in love with birds ever since. Right now I have about 20 chickens that are mostly bantam breeds. I think my favorite part about raising chickens is being able to watch them and see them grow up and see how each one has their own personality. In addition to chickens, I also attend graduate school and work with citrus as an entomologist. I'm basically interested in any flora or fauna and love the natural world and learning about it. I'm really excited to finally be on BYC so I can talk to people with experience as I've always just tried to find relevant threads on here or through google.
