Hola! New to the group

I am originally from Oklahoma but we have lived in Colorado for the past 6 yrs. We love it here! We currently have 7 chickens (leghorn, Arucana, Road Island Reds) and two dogs. My daughter is in 4H and shows one of our dogs and chickens. We have had these chickens for about 2 years and my daughter feels she needs to add new chicks every spring. Which I agree is good to keep egg production moving along but we live in town and have more chickens than the city tells us we should have. I am an avid gardener, soon to be beekeeper and horse/animal lover. I am married and have two kids, a 15yr old boy and a 10yr old girl. I also care for my parents who moved in with us about a year ago. I also love baking and being creative in the kitchen. I guess you could say I like homesteading. I do work as a part time teacher which isn’t part time. I would like to change my profession but unsure what I want to do next but I am excited to join this group!
