Great to find this forum!
I'm a southwest urban living gal. I live in Phx AZ and have had chickens in the past. I'm considering starting a coup in my new house and have some questions for those of you that live in the desert. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to BYC! I started with chickens over the summer and the people of BYC have been great. Please visit my BYC Page for my blog links that you may find informative or amusing.

There was a thread recently that discussed a coop and run in the desert that included shade cloths, grapevines, drip irrigation, and misters. It was amazing, but now I cannot find it.

Going to be 75 this weekend perfect (chicken) weather! I'm going to start a thread about sunshine and chickens. I have a great shady place in mind for the chickens but worry that they won't get much sunlight at all. Good in the summer but not so sure about zero direct light.
