Hi, everyone. Just joined. What's the minimum to maximum time to hold jumbo coturnix eggs prior to viable incubator hatching? NOT days to hatch, but how long do you hold them before starting a batch in the incubator?

1. Is there a minimum?
2. How long is a safe maximum holding for viability?
3. Any special requirements while holding?

I have a tiny incubator... we call it the dinkybator

... but look forward to quail in our future. It has only 7 standard quail slots so not sure how that will relate to jumbos. Need to know for future reference which eggs we should eat and which are OK for hatching.
TIA

Hold them no less than 24 hours and fertility/hatchability will begin to drop after 10 days. Your best results will come from eggs 1-7 days old.

Exactly the info I needed. Thanks!
