Holding Hens

I'd like to know too, so I'm joining in. I've seen handlers catch them by the legs, but it never looked really comfortable, or not to sound silly, respectful, so I'm hoping there are other ways. Great question!

My girls like it if I pick them up and hold them between my body and one arm, holding the wings closed. That leaves one hand free to give neck scritches, feel the crop, or look at their feet/beaks/wattles/etc. Tillie actually likes to be held on her back like a baby and get tummy scritches.

Tillie has absolutely fabulous feathers. Looks well loved.
