Hole in Beak?

My little cockerel has a very strange hole in his beak? I have no idea how it could’ve gotten there but could this possibly be deadly? A long while ago it almost looked like his beak was “peeling” in that same spot so we sprayed it with vetricyn and let him back out. The day he received his initial injury he tried impressing two of the big ladies and they did not like it so they got into a small scuffle which I broke up. It wasn’t bad nothing really happened except this?

Does the hole extend to inside the beak?

His beak is overgrown, you may want to start working on trimming that back.
