I just got a whole new crew of girls, and am loving them! However, lately I am noticing a hole in the pointed end of the egg. Always in the same spot and about a quarter inch in diameter. Rarely is the hole pecked all the way through to the white and yolk part...so not for the sole purpose of eating the egg! At first just one egg, now it's up to as many as three! Is this the chickens or a predator, and what do I do! I started gathering earlier in the day and that has helped but would really like to figure out the problem! Thanks for your help!

Welcome!
It's likely one of your hens, so watch for signs of yolk on one of them, if it progresses to eating the eggs. Don't eat them yourself!
If it's a predator, tighten up your defenses! Is the coop opened, or closed up until after you gather eggs? If it's truly predator proof, you have your answer, it's one of your birds. If it's open to everyone, that's really not good!

Need to see some pics.
Is the shell weak in that area?
Could just be a poorly formed egg.
