Hole Pecked in Foot - What now?- update

So after a week of healing in the garage, I put the bird back with the flock - out into the bitter cold run with no chickens in sight due to the temp - and immediately the offending chicken came out into the yard and pecked the foot a couple of times and it was bloody again. I tried to separate the offender this time, but one of the other birds just started pecking the foot too. So now I have to cull a 6 month old chicken who is laying eggs daily right through all of this trauma. Suggestions? Any central Iowan interested in a Light Brahma pullet with a very minor foot injury? I will most likely end up butchering her before Sunday is out because my wife is not happy about the chicken poop all over the garage.

Don't cull her - perhaps you can put something like Blue cote on it?

Hi, I know how you can fix this. I've had tons of similar situations where the other chickens will make the boo-boo a lot worse. I went to my Farmers Coop and they gave me meds to treat the wounds and the pecking. First you spray Quell Anti-picking spray for caged birds. Then you spray the Blue Lotion spray. It's a bright blue and they won't peck anymore. The Quell taste is terrible and they won't peck at the blue stuff anyway. I'm treating a few chickens with this stuff right now. It's a miracle cure. About every 2-3 days you reapply and before you know it, it will be healed completely. Once a chicken sees blood and starts to peck at the wound then there is no stopping them but this stuff really has been a lifesaver for me. Happy chickens and no more boo-boos.

Sweet. Thanks for the input. I don't think the co-op is open today, but I have several "farmer stores" to check (TSS, Theisens, shopper's supply etc.) My wife was fully opposed to culling the bird despite the poop in the garage, and has been offering up people to call who don't have chickens but might want one. I also suggested we put Enid (that's the chicken's name, yes they all have names) in our huge dog crate that we use when we feed the dogs - it is an extra crate. That way the chicken's not roaming the garage and I can maybe set her up with better heat as it has been BITTER COLD for the last 3 days (single digits to minus zero). That seemed to be acceptable for her so I will do that after lunch.
