I put her in our deep freezer - which I would assume would not be a cooler and plan to bury her tomorrow with our other 2 silkies we lost during the heat wave.

Freezing the body may affect the necropsy, but if you take it out and keep it cold, that may be okay. Don’t worry if you prefer to bury her. But it can be good to get some answers about a death in case it could affect other flock members.

I have another chicken exhibiting symptoms of wry neck or something similar. Do you think the 2 could be related?

I’m sorry you lost your hen and that another is unwell. I’ve had this exact issue running through my flock recently and it turned out to be Marek’s. I hope this is not the case for you, but if you lose another you might consider getting the necropsy done so you can know one way or the other.

Hoping the best for you and your flock! There’s of course many other things that could be causing these symptoms and I know you’ll get great advice here!
