I have a conundrum regarding my 6month old male Pekin. I'm currently planning a holiday and a friend has offered to mind him at her place in the country. She has other Pekins and knows how to look after them but I'm wondering if, when I get back, will he recognise me and be happy to leave the other ducks?

Well that may depend on if your friend has Drakes, and if they beat up on yours. If that happens I'd say he'll be real happy to leave the other ducks. And once you get him home and start loving on him he'll be happy to see you. We don't encourage members to keep just one duck because being flock animals they thrive on other ducks but it's everyones decision to keep what they want. I'd be a mite concerned how your drake will react to the other ducks if he hasn't ever been around any. Might be a good idea to start intros now before you leave him.
