Hollywood FL laws

section 92.02 says keeping fowl is prohibited other than areas where it was not prohibited prior to June 10, 1948. In those areas it is not prohibited if they have been continuously kept since before that date. Once a place stops keeping them, then it is prohibited there too.

A different section says fowl includes chickens. And where it is not prohibited, the specified requirements (like clean, no scent or sound that bothers neighbors, and such) must be met.

Could you elaborate? 92.35 gives the rules for keeping chickens or fowl. Does sticking to these rules allow you to legally keep chickens? 92.02 states that it is prohibited unless the city zoning code states otherwise. What is a city zoning code?

The laws for keeping chickens apply only where chickens can be kept. Which, in Hollywood, is only where chickens have been kept for the past 65 years - without stopping. It is unlikely that is any property.

I sympathize with both the wish that more cities allowed chickens and the dashed hope that maybe this one does.

City zoning code is the local law regulating how land can be used.

Here and Here
Scroll down on the first link to button about zoning and building codes. I recommend reading it on a desktop rather than a phone. I may have missed something by trying to read it on a phone but the city master plan - Here - leaves very little hope of that.
