I would not recommend an infrared driveway alarm….every criiter bigger than a small cat will set them off…we switched to a magnetic field sensor placed at the edge of the driveway. Now only vehicles set it off. Be sure to set it at least 20’ up you drive or you may get false triggers from large vehicles passing your entrance.Oh driveway alarm is a good idea. We have cameras that alert when it sees something. All very helpful.
We use the ‘Dakota alert”. It allows for multiple receivers and has a range of about a mile. The transmitter uses 6 or 8 “123 lithium” batteries. We've had this for 3 years and have not changed the batteries.
