Holy cow, I bought 6 chicks! My Dallas backyard chickens

:)
Our chickens are in their coop and are doing well. We predator proofed the crap out of our coop, so when they go to bed, we put the coop at DefCon 1, lock the girls in tight and head to bed. So far, no predators have gotten to the girls. We did have a feral cat drinking their water over the summer, though. She'd crawl into the coop when we left it open in the afternoon and drink from the chicken waterer. LOL!
Aside from that, it's been good. We have a Cochin, a crevecoeur and a bantam orpington (my lap chicken). They run to us for goodies and love to have their chins rubbed. Spoiled rotten, I tell you.

Anyone interested or know if anyone is interested in Dallas in a 10 month old Yokohama hen? I am having to move and need to find her a home. Her 3 Cornish hen siblings have been placed, so i just have her left. I got her at Gecko this past March. She is very calm and not at all broody.

Welcome to BYC, Elise. Glad you decided to join our flock. My wife and I were both raised in the great state of Texas, not too far from where you are (Blue Ridge for her, Greenville for me). Congratulations! It's always so exciting getting those first chicks.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your chicks.
