Holy Crap, I can't believe I'm getting a new coop!

Brandy the is WONDERFUL.
My hubby has helped me a little. But it has been 90% my doing.
That is why I have such a mish mash of Coops - Pens - Cages.
With all the money I spent on the small areas one at a time I
can not just start over. BUT If I could go back in time I would have
done every section Bigger & Better and matching with a nice flow.

HAVE FUN and keep us updated with Pictures
:)

I just built 2 more small pens for breeding trios they cost about 75.00
each. Supplys are expensive. AND THE WORST NEWS IS I ran out of room
so I definatly can not expand on my bird numbers
:-(

Your husband took your chicken HUNTING????

Did you worry that the chicken might not come back, but your husband would bring back something for the freezer?

I can just see the chicken, driving around the countryside, hanging her head out the window like a dog....

What a great mental picture!

I know I'm totally excited! I got the concrete today and will probably get 1/2 the posts tomorrow. Next Friday I'm buying the rest of the posts and renting the post hole digger. I have no idea when the ground freezes for sure here, but I don't want to chance it by waiting to long. I know that when I went to help feed everybody this morning it was 23 degree's outside.

I figure once the posts are up, I can tinker and do alot of it myself, like mounting the fence panels (more on that later), etc. I'm gonna take before during and after photos.

I can't hardly see straight my brain is frying on ideas. Tonight while I watched my grandkids my husband and brother put in an outlet on the back of the house so that they can reach the cow and horse troughs easier with the de-icers. While they did that, they ran electric wire through the garage and wired me up a flood light that turns on by a switch so I don't have to stumble out to the coop in the dark when I'm investigating a noise or locking them up. The coop is close to the house so it works out perfectly.

I swear I'm in heaven right now. Now that the grandkids have left I'm pulling out all my books, magazine's with ideas and looking at ideas online and getting a plan together.

The run plans are in place. There will be five straight runs on each side of the coop and a corner run that is triangular on each corner. The runs will be 4 feet wide by 10 feet long. I don't know how he is planning on doing the corner run. At the end of each run will be a hinged door so that I can get in to clean. The pens inside will be the same width and four feet long. I haven't figured out exactly how I'm going to frame, enclose etc. the pens on the inside. He also said that if there is enough space leftover inside He'll help me move my feed storage inside so that I don't have to mess with frozen lids on 50 gal barrels.

Well I'm off to gather ideas for this project. Ideas are welcome!
