HOLY CRAP! I have 2 sets of twins!

Making sure they can both breath is the real key to getting them out alive so it sounds like your little guys have a great chance so far. Best of luck with them ( and the second egg too ) - its so rare to get them out alive.

I had a double yolker a few years ago that made it to day 28 but one wasnt able to move and get its bill into position to tap on the egg so they didnt make it. Can you see the bills of the ducklings in the second egg yet ? If you shine a torch into the egg it may help too. I use a drill bit very carefully to make a hole in the shell when necessary to allow air transfer into the egg - a very slow process- but it is also important to allow them to do alot of the hatching work themselves to build up strength.

Ok, update, not twins LOL The shadow that looked like a beak next to the beak was an elbow LOL It just hatched 3 minutes ago! So far 2 of the 6 have hatched!!!

Aren't you suppose to leave em in the bator for 24 hours or something?

I'm following the same way I did my 1st 2 hatches, I have never lost a duckling or gosling this method, nor have I ever had a sick duckling.

This is as low as the brooder goes, but if you use towels or shavings, you raise the duckling up closer to it. I also have a lid on the brooder keeping the heat in with a small opening for air.

This is only my 3rd time ever hatching eggs. If the next 4 hatch, I will be exstatic to have had a 100% hatch rate. I got these eggs in the pouring rain in about 40 degree weather last month. They were scattered all over the farm. 2 were in a horse stall, one was under a downspout sitting in a puddle, the rest were random around the farm.
