Holy Moly, my pullet laid a 2.4 oz. egg!

My girls have been laying since mid-July, and occasionally they lay an egg that's so big I wonder how they can possibly squeeze it out! 3.7 ounces was the biggest so far. That's more than a whole ounce bigger than jumbo!

Wikipedia has a great article about eggs, grading and sizing them. Different countries have varying standards for the sizes and how many ounces they are, too... so if you're in Australia, Europe or Canada an extra-large egg may weigh more or less than it does in the USA. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_egg_sizes

These were laid over 2 days; the big one is the 3.7 ounce. Obviously not all the girls were into laying such enormous eggs that week!
