Ok these are out first Turkeys. We are used to chickens. We normally have to clean out the chicken coop once a week with 25 chickens (twice a week the last 2 weeks) having said that 6 turkeys can poop up a coop in 5 days! And put out some serious ammonia! I have been able to keep a flow of air through their coops since the temperatures have been nice but with the cold weather coming that will end! I have recently (yesterday) added ACV to all their water. Any other tips? I have heard of people doing poop pick up duty. And I guess I could try that when I am fluffing the shavings but I don't know how much that will help. Any other suggestions?

Get the waders on and the scoop shovel cause its just the beginning

I had 16 broad-breasteds this summer. Towards the end it felt like I took out a wheel barrow full every three or four days. It must not have been that often, but it was frequent. And rain...slippery!

I have ~30 ish bourbon reds, I fill my 10 cubic foot trailer for my lawn mower with it roughly every 10 days and they are free range, this is just cleaning out under the roosts!

Mine roost on the porch for a little bit before I haul them into their room. Just four turkeys, and within half an hour, the porch looks like a compost pile. We had one that we brought INSIDE the house once because she was shivering so badly... What a freaking mess. She was in for about 20 minutes to warm up and I cleaned up seven or eight poops.
