Home dryer vent 5 feet from chicken coop run

I'm thinking of letting the vent stay where it is and build a funnel and piping system so they the lint will spit out on the ground but the air will funnel up. My husband says to just build a wall with corrugated metal around the vent. I'll post Picts when I figure it out and build it.

You have to be careful when putting venting on your dryer. Look at what the manufacturer specifies for length. If your under that you could always pull the part off the outside of your house and run some vent piping on the outside of your house around the corner and vent it over there.

I would definitely consult with someone who knows about heating/venting/dryer systems to make sure that's safe. Obviously you want to keep your chickens safe but you don't want to damage your house, vents or dryer either!

Oh yes, the vent will still be impeded outside of the house, anything I build will be at least 6" from the actual vent port so I can remove lint and such. This is pointed at the ground. I was thinking to catch most of the air and direct it up and away rather the extend the vent piping. A good friend is a city building inspector. I should run some ideas through him too. I've heard of plenty of dryer fires to make me ansy. The chickens are 2 months old and can wait to go in the coop till I get everything right.

There is nothing wrong with extending the pipe.i would do it in 4" hard pipe as opposed to the corrugated flea pioe.Wouldn't be anything wrong with running vent pipe outside, shouldn't be against code or anything.(I'm an HVAC Tech) If you do run it outside don't use screws to put the piping together, you'll want to use the silver foil tape. The screws will just catch lint and build up a giant clog over time. If you do decide you want to go up, definitely check the manual for you dryer and see what it says about venting and vertical rise of the vent pipe.
