Home for 4 Hens

As I'm re-working my plans, and I may be able to give a little space here take a little space there, would it be better to make the coop bigger, or the run bigger?

There's a big old walnut tree limiting how far I can go in one direction, and a steep hill/potential erosion area in the other direction.
Well, since they are both under the same roof, making the coop bigger would make the run bigger because the run can extend under the coop.

When you plan, if you are using plywood, think in 4' and 8' dimensions, for much less waste and fewer cuts. Bigger!
Three or more chickens, because when one dies, you will have a lonely bird, and they are flock animals, not meant to be solitary.

I was just going to say use 4x8 to minimize waste!

Building this coop has taken far longer than I imagined it would, but here it is in progress.... chicks ordered from Mount Healthy Hatchery, to be picked up June 24, so now I have a deadline!

Sigh, yeah.....Twice the time and thrice the cost!

Edge of high side of roof is flush with coop wall...or optical illusion?
