I have a heritage RIR roo that is about 5 months of age. He is very handsome. I acquired him as a chick from a breeder who gave no promises it would be a hen. I already have 4 other roos in my flock of 31. I have 4 coops, 3 runs, and one more run in the works, but this roo is too much. If you are in my neck of the woods, (Southeastern, PA) contact me only if you can give him a good home and dinner, - not he be the dinner! I do not need to swap, if you can show me you can give him a good home, he is yours. I am, however, looking for a mate for my young pullet American Bresse, Chonsie. Her sweet twin, Felix, was just found in our stream mysteriously with no mark we could see on him. This was devastating, as the two were inseparable. All our chickens are pets. As you know, this breed is a prized meat bird. We find this breed to be shy and trusting, and they sang sweetly to each other. This pair was a special acquisition, and I doubt I could replace the bird, but I'll put some feelers out anyway. I am in a part of the country where there are many nice breeds available within driving distance, - all with the possible exception of the American Breese and the Araucana. I am fortunate to have some very nice birds in my flock. So if anyone would like the heritage RIR roo, please contact me..
