Home made bator, Height of area for chicks to hatch.

Hi, I have another question now. Is 2 3/4 inches high enough area in my incubator for hatching chicks or should it be higher? How deep are trays in cabinet incubators? Thanks again.

So it depends.

2 3/4" is probably enough clearance for most chickens, just make sure they can't reach the fan or heater.
