After reading here for a while I scrounged enough stuff out of the shed to put together an incubator . I'm a plumber so a used water heater thermostat is commonly found in my junk box. I have been monitoring temps for a week and am happy with the temps. My barred rocks are 2 1/2 weeks old so the wait for eggs would be a while

... so I hit craigslist. found free range eggs for sale close. So I called to confirm they had roosters in with the hens. yep so I asked to not put a dozen in the fridge. Went over we collected a dozen from the coop plus a dozen for eatin'
