do any of you make some of your own bath items, or have any good home remidies? I have a couple of recipes for bath salts and shave gels that are supposed to be good and cost less than buying them at the store. I'll post them if anyone is interested. I love good money saving ideas. I can't wait to hear some good Ideas.....thanks

I've made bath salts, soap, etc.

Yes, please do share your recipes with us, Poderchick. That would be nice!

Miss Prissy, if you ever had the time, would you mind sharing your goat milk soap recipe? The soap I used to make needs a total overhaul, as I have become allergic to some of the ingredients. Maybe starting over would be better, especially with goat milk soap.

We've not had goats to milk for years, we take in goats which need homes, now. Our dear Penelope was thin and neglected, living alone, tied up, on an uninhabited property. Her owners saying she was "mean."

I've never met a friendlier goat, and I've had quite a few. She thinks she's a dog. Sweet as can be, and eats poison oak like nobody's business! So she does have a job here, too.

I'm away from the point, though, which is that, while mine don't have milk at this time, I know a cheese maker, just down the road from me, who'd be happy to let me have milk for soapmaking, and I could share the soap with them!

Well, I think I'm going to go make those biscuits BamaChick showed us!

Now I want to know how to make goat milk soap too!! Although can it be made with regular milk. I don't have goats or know anyone with goats. I would love to be able to make my own soap or bath salts or any beauty type stuff like that. Just don't know how. Let me know if any one wants to share their ideas.

Hehe. I don't have anywhere near the skills of Miss Prissy. But am hoping to learn some things sometime. I'm not good with carpentry either but am hoping to learn some tomorrow when my guy helps me build a new bigger house for my geese.

I've never made soaps , and that is something I would love to be able to do. Miss Prissy, i've read a few of your posts also and I am so glad to hear from someone with such a wealth of info. With the way prices are going I think we all need to learn to be a little more self sufficiant. Especially when you can make items for less than you could buy them in the store. I made a womens shave gel that i found a recipe for in a book i bought. It comes out more like a liqid than i thoght it would, but i used it anyway, and loved it. my legs came out smooth and felt like i had lotioned them up too. and the great thing most of us girle have these things on hand....

.............shave gel..........
2 tablespoons of shampoo
2 tablespoons of conditioner
1 teaspoon of hand cream
1or 2 teaspoons of baby oil
mix well and use it will stay good for about 6 months

hope y'all like it
