Hello!
So for the past years i've been making my own feed.
I did these proportions, 36% wheat, 32% barley, 22% field peas, 7% sunflower seeds, then added calcium carbonate and meat-meal with a protein content of 60% to adjust.
Issue is, this year, field peas have failed, so there aren't any. adding more of the concentrate, would make the feed too dusty, which the hens don't like. I could buy human-grade collagen for a higher price and a 90% protein, but Idk.
How can i correct the feed? any ideas?

as you include meat-meal, probably not. Grains and legumes together provide all the amino acids, so complement each other, which matters when birds are on veggie only diets. My rule of thumb is keep it fresh (which usually means local) and keep it varied (which usually means seasonal) and you'll probably provide everything they need in the quantities they need it at the time. They evolved perfectly well for thousands of years without us. :)

it's all fresh, and local, comes from 10 km from here. i mean, later on i may find these, but for now i cannot let them be without protein, especially while they;re molting.

Great; so just increasing the meat-meal a little for the duration should work for you and your chickens.
