I made this gravity feeder out of a ventilation pipe and a vent cap that was conveniently shaped for a feeder. It has four "mouths" to dispense food and should hold at least a 20lb bag of food, if not a 50. The only work I had to do was put two layers of duct tape around the metal's edges for safety. They weren't really sharp but I didn't want to chance it! It does need to be secured either to the floor or the wall... I'm also considering trying to suspend it from the ceiling. I think any one of these ideas will work, just gotta get out there and do it!

In total it cost me about $14 at Home Depot. Way less than building a comparably sized PVC pipe gravity feeder.

This is a simple feeder that is made with a 5 gallon bucket, 3 bolts, 3 nuts, 6 washers, and a planter bottom. 5 gallon bucket takes a 16 inch planter bottom. I remake the handles so that they have a notch in them so they can be hung up without tipping.

I dont have any good pictures of how they were built, but this is what I made just a couple weeks ago. The lids have hinges and latches for easy filling and keeping the chickens out of the top. The back of the feeder has a 20 degree angle on the bottom piece of wood to slant the food into the bin... kind of like rabbit feeders that you see.
