So just for fun I decided to cobble together a still air incubator just to see if I could make it work. From my years of keeping reptiles I had a very good thermostat lying around as well as several thermometers. I took a basic Styrofoam cooler used a 40W desk lamp hooked into the thermostat and played with it until I got the temperature stable for a few days (an we've had some crazy temperature swings here lately). I set 4 eggs this morning and now we'll see. I'll update as I go along, good or bad.

Thanks, so far so good...no temp spikes... humidity is sitting at 40%. I'm ordering a Brinsea 20 for the spring as I'm planning to do a fair bit of hatching (turkey & some meat birds) but this is just a fun project to play with.

i wish you the best of luck
