Homemade incubator

I would remove the turner when you set them for hatching. I have marked the wrong week on my calendar and before I realized it I had chicks hatching in the incubator. All was well and I moved the rest of the eggs to the hatcher and the chicks to the brooder. To bring up the humidity quicker when you open the incubator you can mist the eggs with warm water before you close it back up.

I leave my eggs in the hatcher until day 25. That was the latest I have had a chick hatch. The chicks are still absorbing the yolk usually when they pip. When they start to zip they have usually absorbed the yolk.
