Can I use a dimmer switch for my incubator??. Can it work properly without a fan??

Is the dimmer switch to be used to regulate temperature?

I think the fan is really helpful to prevent hot and cold spots, but there are some commercial models that don’t have a fan. On the other hand... a mother hen doesn’t have a fan under her (though that’s contact incubation).

A dimmer switch is better than having to switch out bulbs, but a thermostat is better. I have neither a dimmer switch nor a thermostat in my home made incubator. But it needs to be closely monitored.

You could have a successful hatch with a dimmer switch and no fan.
