Homemade organic feed?

I swore I read a question about this the other day but now I am not seeing the post. Anyhow, if anyone is interested here is a recipe for homemade feed I stumbled across.

2 parts whole corn (in winter this is increased to 3 or 4 parts)

3 parts soft white wheat

3 parts hard red winter wheat

1 part hulled barley

1 part oat groats

1 part sunflower seeds (in winter this is increased to 2 parts)

1 part millet

1 part kamut

1 part amaranth seeds

1 part split peas

1 part lentils

1 part quinoa

1 part sesame seeds

1/2 part flax seeds

1/2 part kelp granules

free choice of granite grit

free choice of oyster shell

That ia a long list of ingredients.

It could be organic if those grains are raised organic. The recipe could go either way..

Agreed, so many ingredients.

With my pullets I serve purchased organic layer mix as free choice and treat heavily with Hard red wheat, oats and BOSS all sprouted. Some cracked corn, Alfalfa meal, tiny bit of fish meal, and ground up apples.

The article was a written by a woman who suggested purchasing the items "organic" from Whole Foods. Clearly she is wealthier than I.
