homes needed for ducklings

I have 5 eggs in my incubator that are due to hatch in 5-6 days. I thought I had a good home lined up, but... As much as I want to keep them, I have 13 that are between 1 1/2 to 2 mos. old. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana. Here is a pic of the potential babies.

Awww, I am on the east coast and not set up for babes right now. Good for you for starting right now to find them a home!

Anyone? I am willing to drive a few miles to do a hand-off of the babies if you are not from Indianapolis or even Indiana. Just think of the babies!

Ohhh! I am in Indiana! Sullivan (south of Terre Haute on 41). What kind of ducklings are they going to be?

How far are you willing to travel? I'm east of Cincinnati, takes me roughly 3+ hours to Indianapolis. What kind of babies are we talking... I know cayuga (very interested in those), but what else?

Well, as for what type of babies??? Good question. These are rescued eggs from an abandoned nest (I hope and pray it was abandoned. A lady from my neighborhood found out I had incubated several rescued eggs earlier this spring and brought these to me. She had a duck sitting on a different nest in her yard and took precautions for her. So I trust that she was right.) The eggs are very dark as you can see from the pic. We have several black and black & white ducks on our pond/lake. I will go through my pics and post a few as I am not certain about their exact breed. I will also post a few pics of the ducks from the first set of hatched rescues. In that batch there were several darker eggs. However, a couple of these eggs are even darker.

As for how far I will travel. I am willing to meet halfway or drive up to an hour or two - especially if these babies will go to someone who has experience with ducks!!!

This is uno. He was hatched from a brown egg. He is now almost all black with some white on his stomach.

The second pic lets you see almost all of my babies. You can see a bit of how the black and white ducks are looking at about 1 1/2 mos.



This third pic is another one of all the ducks. Once again you can get a rough idea of how the black and black & white ducks look as the grow.

If I can't find anyone on here, does someone know where I might look to find someone who wants possibly five precious babes?

I am willing to go halfway, that's about 1.5-2 hours. Will you charge a hatch fee? I am interested, so please pm me if you would like to move forward on this.

I have 3.5 years of experience with ducks. My yard is completely fenced in with a small pond for swimming. I have a shed for adults at night and a converted outhouse for yungins out of the brooder but not big enough to defend themselves. My ducks are pets/yard art so they will not be eaten. Excess drakes will go to a friend of mine who wants ducks but doesn't care for eggs.
