Homesteading in Libya

these are our first two chicks for this year. Our first year here we got 3, 2 died after about two weeks and one ran off since my fil doesnt cage his birds he didnt think about losing ours. They r on a 3ftx30ft balcony for now. We are still looking for a house with land but for now they can keep the balcony free of ants, lizards and roaches lol.

a pigeon nest, feeders, two chicks and 1 month of feed cost us less than 20 us dollars. I found some old chicken wire walking home from the souk and used it to cover the holes at the end of the balcony. We will bring them in or put them in a rabbit hutch for nightime since we have owls in the area. Hopefully we can have laying hens by summer.

What pretty chicks! Good luck with the house hunting, bet the little guys will keep your balcony bug-free for you until then!
