Hello!
My grandfather has 9 white homing pigeons in need of rehoming. He has not released his birds yet and wants to give them to me for Christmas. I've visited them, and they are quite beautiful and healthy. I've seen the pigeons' housing and I can gather some information about them from him. I'm a little worried about their long lifespan, given I'm going to high school next year and will only have four years left at my house (I can't predict the future, but it's better to assume). They'll have access in and out of their loft, and we do have birds of prey around here, so maybe the population will balance. I just need some advice on if I should get invested in this. Is it profitable to sell squabs? With access outside, could they die off easily unless I raise their young to replace them?
Thanks for reading.
