Hello

My name is Amy

I admit it, I'm new to this addiction. This will be my first hatch. Though I'm sure it won't be my last!

They will soon have company as we have 7 more chicks coming in one week(all laying hens!) FUN!!!

My Non_Chicken Hubby is going along with things MUCH better this time around...since he's eating eggs for breakfast every morning and can have egg salad sandwhiches on any given day of the week!(LOL)...FUNNY the more eggs we get the more positive things are becoming around here!!!

Now he's looking into a farming variance!!!

Of course my 4 yr. old reminded Hubby last night that he's not a "real chicken farmer" until he starts collecting eggs and cleaning out the barn!!! Funny Kiddo!!!

I am so glad I am not the only crazy one. I have in my basement in a huge brooder

2 - 13 week old buckeye bantams
1 - 12 week old buckeye bantam
5 - 11 week old Ameracaunas
7 - 11 week old Buff Orpingtons
4 - 10 week old LF Buckeyes

In a separate pen I have my 4 Seramas - they can't be outside, it's too cold.

In my master bathroom I have 9 - 2.5 week old LF Buckeyes...

and I just put 10 LF Buckeye eggs in the incubator

Oh wait, I forgot, I also have a bantam cochin roo in the garage because he was fighting with my other bantam cochin roo and I don't have anywhere else to put him. The babies in the basement are getting ready to move out to my large coop with my 2 LF Buckeyes and then the one in the master bathroom will move to the big brooder downstairs.

My name is Sarah and I am an addict...

i have 5 serama and 3 black cochins that are part of my mottled lavender project (all chicks are eggs hatched from my stock) in the brooder in the house
i also have the bator full with 3 different sets of eggs whick include white cochins, mottled lavender project eggs, blueX splash cochins, blueX blue cochins, and tons of serama eggs (all from my birds) each set is due on a different friday, one this friday, the second the next friday, and the third is due three fridays from now

I don't have any at the moment (chicks that is) but have 30 eggs hatching Thursday and about 30 more hatching over the next couple of weeks. I also plan on going to the feed store this week and hopefully getting a few of the Wyandottes (GLW & SLW) that they had left. They are getting tons more chicks over the next couple of months so I am sure there won't be a shortage around here LOL! I would have picked some up on Saturday when I was there but didn't have my brooder set up yet - doing it tomorrow in anticipation of this weeks hatch.....
