hi , i am wondering how hoineybees and chickens get along?
I am hoping to put the hen house kinda near the beehives and was hoping to find out if asnyone else has the same type situation?
They will be appx 100 feet from the beehives?

I have 3 hives in my yard and 4 chicken tractors. There are numerous times the chickens are within 10 feet and I haven't had any problems. The bees do not get excited and the chickens seem to pay them no attention. Even when I let them out of the tractors and they roam very close to the hives there is not problem. If a dog gets near the hives, thats a different subject!!

thanks skennedy for the info ! THAT IS GOOD NEWS.
do u have jumbo cornish XX , we have 100 of them !
were going to put in a tractor , but our weather has been real rainy this year so we are keeping them outside ( moved today ) in a BIG coop on a concrete pad with shavings. oh well , maybe next batch will get in the fall and put in a tractor ?
thanx again.

No, I have Rhode Island Reds, Silver Grey and Red Dorkings, Silver Spangled and Gold Penciled Hamburgs, Black Sexlinks, Pekin Ducks, and Bronze Turkeys. All but the ducks are in tractors moved daily.

Chickens and bees do just fine together, many of my fellow beeks keep chickens, as will I, as of tomorrow (I guess! Finally!). My four hives are 12 feet from the front door of my coup.
