I have a blue laced red wyandotte pullet with a very pronounced hook (90 degrees) at the end of her beak. I trim/file every couple of weeks but not making a dent in this hook. She seems ok so far, but is this the type of thing that might eventually impede her ability to eat? Thanks,
Abi

I would just keep doing what you're doing........Alot of hatcheries de-beak their started pullets. That's when they nip off a portion of the top beak....I really just hate that idea myself, BUT, I would imagine the trimming that you're doing is just fine, considering alot of these pullets end up with only half of their top beak.......

You're doing a great job!

Thanks, Sharon! You made me feel a lot better about it. When I did her today, it did seem a bit straighter, so maybe I just have to outlast her growth spurts. Lost a sweet chick to crossbeak and now am a worriwort!
