I've been working hard at getting everything set and ready to go in my homemade incubator and all the work seems to be paying off! After who-knows how many adjustments, etc., I've made-I am very pleased with where my temps are at. I have been doing my "incubator dry run" for the last 2 days now. Today, alone, I spent 9 hours on this thing.
I picked up a liquid thermometer/hygrometer from Home Depot today. One of those super cheap-o $2.97 jobbies. I only got it so I could get an idea of how close my @%*& digital one was getting. The liquid one is hitting 102 and the digital is getting to 102.7 before the thermostat cuts off. My only very minor concern is the temp on each before the thermostat kicks back on. The liquid is going down to 93 while the digital is staying pretty steady around 99.8. I'm going to take the digital one back to Wal-Fart tomorrow and I'm considering buying a "better" one from there...if there is such a thing. Any suggestions on which Wal-Mart thermometer?
I'm still hoping that my PC fan gets here either tomorrow or Thursday at the very latest. I'm sure I'll have another day of excitement getting things re-adjusted with the fan installed!
