HOORAY! My RIR has laid her first egg!

One of 2 rir i purchased from a CSA nearby just presented us with her first egg! It was slightly more rounded and light brown and small for a first egg. But now I have 2 out of 5 laying hens in my flock---I am so excited!! So, starting with an adopted
Golden Lakenvelder who has been very consistent in her laying patterns (white eggs, small), soon we should have 4 laying hens, with my small little girl, a 4 week old Ameracauna, starting in December (maybe).

I am so excited for you. I have 5 RIR hens and they are about 5 months old and I am so waiting for an egg.....
