Hi All,
I have been raising our very first flock of chickens since they arrived from Murray McMurray here on February 9th. We have 11 pullets and 4 cockerels (yes, I know I need to lose some boys) and they are 20 weeks and 1 day old today. Sadly, I was out of town when my fiance found our very first egg on Friday!! It's a perfect, small mint-green egg from one of our 6 EEs. And yesterday I got back and we found another one! So, here are pics of our first two eggs... I am so excited I wanted to share! This is what we've been waiting for!
and for size and color comparison, here they are next to some other eggs (left to right: store bought duck egg, store bought "large brown organic" egg, barred rock hen egg from the farmers' market, then our egg #1 and egg #2):
And, the lovely lady who I *think* laid them both. 2 days in a row and perfectly formed on her first effort! She's my little overachiever
Miss Lady Banks:
OK, thanks for looking! I just wanted to share!
