I just took my eggs out of my Brinsea Minis and put them into the Hovabator, in preparation for lockdown tomorrow & to make room for my new eggs to be set
in the Mini.I hatch only in my Hovabator, because it has temp swings occasionally, usually low.
it's been hot here today (88) and I turned the eggs by hand at 2 pm, the Spot Check read 100.0. OK.
An hour later the Spot Check read 102.5 near the top of the eggs. Could have been for 10 min, could have been for 50 min.

Since the chicks in the eggs are far denser than the air, is it fair to surmise that the eggs didn't warm up the extra 2.5 F as quickly as the air did?
If I could drill (gasp!) into the egg & insert the Spot Check probe, it might say 100.5?

I can't candle until tonight, and I couldn't see movement anyway, as they're Ameraucanas on Day 18,

so what do y'all think, is there hope they didn't get damaged?

I think you should be okay. I have had early on temp spikes of 112 and still got a fair hatch. 102.5 is not bad at all.

We've had EXCELLENT luck with Ameraucanas and EEs... they are tough. In a past hatch we had the temp drop down to 68 degrees OVERNIGHT (79 degrees in the water wiggler) and still had a 90% hatch rate. In another the temp jumped up to 113.5 degrees (in the water wiggler) for at least an hour that I know of. In that hatch we lost 4 out of 20 which I didn't think was too bad considering the circumstances. Basically, don't give up on them, just ride it out. They are all probably ok, I would lose ABSOLUTELY no sleep over 102.5 degrees.

Take care!
