Yay!!! Can’t wait to see how they are doing when you candle on Weds!! Most incubators have a “well” of water so you just fill it and it raises the humidity for several days. Does it show the humidity on the display screen of the incubator? We live in a super dry climate and I usually keep mine around 65-70% during lockdown. (Sorry I can’t remember the standard recommendation for lockdown off the top of my head.) If I am having trouble getting it high enough I will use a sponge soaked in water or cotton balls soaked in water to raise it. Since you mentioned that you live in a more humid climate, I don’t think you will have as hard of a time keeping the humidity up.We are preparing for our last candling on Wednesday which will mark day 14 of incubation! So excited to see these eggs on Wednesday! Praying everyone is developing nicely and will hopefully be taking up most of their eggs by the time we take another peek! My students are so excited to look at them again, and we talked about what to expect when they hatch next week (EEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!) I'm a little nervous about lockdown, and increasing the humidity; I'm not sure how much it should remain at, and I'm afraid it might drop a lot or something overnight since my incubator is in the classroom. I will do more research though as I have some time between now and then.
It's going by so fast, and yet, somehow very SLOW!![]()
Yes we are using the Nurture Right, so it has a reservoir to fill to increase the humidity as well as a built in hygrometer with the display. I have been reading 65%-70% seems to be the sweet spot! I think I'm afraid of accidentally raising the humidity too high on accident by putting too much water in. But I'll add a little at a time on day 18, and raise it little by litter until it reaches the ideal I think! That's my plan anyway!Yay!!! May I have #8 please and name it Winchester (everyone's favorite insufferable snob).

I thought that the Nature right would have the well and display but wasn’t positive as I haven’t had one of those before. I know they are great incubators though! With the well that you put water in (at least with all of the ones I have ever used) it is inside the incubator. Rather than how high you fill it, it’s the surface area of the water that increases the humidity. So even as the water level goes down, it will remain at the same humidity because the surface area stays the same. If that makes sense.Yes we are using the Nurture Right, so it has a reservoir to fill to increase the humidity as well as a built in hygrometer with the display.
