I ordered a trio of Indian Runners many months ago from a breeder nearly 1000 klms away from me - And since in Australia we cant ship ducklings like you guys I have been waiting for these guys to grow and molt so I could pick mine out from photos which I did last weekend....

They are now nearly 4 month old and I have been able to keep an eye on their progress throught the breeders website.

Anyway I got a call the other day to start to arrange the flight as they will be air freighted. .. But since there were other birds being flown to Brisabane as well- instead of Tuesday - I have to wait for Saturday to get my birds. Anyway...the delay has only made me reconsider all my breeders- and decide I may as well order another duck if one is available. Since its Easter I was going away Friday night -and wont get to see a pic of the extra duck...So look foward to a wonderful surprise when I get home from the airport on Saturday.

I love walking out the back and seeing all my Runners - I could never have TOO MANY.... So I know I wont be kicking myself about my last minute decision.. Cant wait for Saturday........

Well, I for one hope your new birds are everything you could wish for. And I know that they will have a wonderful home.

Good Luck

I knew people here would understand!!!!!!!!! My mother just shakes her head and sighs when I I tell her I am setting more eggs- or buying ducks.

Well- Got the flight number as well now- So I am planning at being at the airport early to see them unloaded from the plane too...I know it will just be the box I can see...But I am just so excited...

Lovesduckies...I will have 24 ducks when these arrive... See - no where near enough ducks yet.....

duckyfromoz, you can never have enough ducks

The biggest problem is not just the adult ducks I am buying though...its also that I keep putting eggs into the incubator... I love seeing them grow and move in the eggs..and how floppy and wet they look when they hatch... Yes it is a healthy kind of addiction at least.... And creating a life and giving it a wonderful home to grow up in really is a fantastic experience.
