I have 7 standard size cochin hens.
3 splash
2 blues
2 barred
They came from breeders not hatchery stock.
The barred Cochins came from a show quality breeder.
The splash/blue are from a lower quality Cochin breeder.
They are about 1 year old and I got them because I read that Cochins go broody.
They are in a large coop 10'x15' and they have a 8'x16' run..
I have big plastic totes with a hole on the front with straw for them to go broody on the floor.
I don't what else to do..
Hoping for some broodies!

Hens go broody when there hormones tell them to. Sometimes "forgetting" to pick eggs can give them a little boost.
Ok thanks for the advice it worked!
I stopped collecting eggs and got a broody splash Cochin!
She's been on the nest since this morning growling at everyone.
It's after dark here in Michigan, she's not on the roost and still in the nest box.
