I am new to raising chickens and we are ok with having a Rooster so either way we are happy.

I am not even sure if we can tell at this age? They are thought to be about 3 to 4 weeks old. If anyone is able to give me any thoughts I would appreciate it. Thanks

I would say the chick in pic 4 and 5 is a rooster, not sure about the rest as i think (i am fairly novice tho) that they are only up to two weeks old. Lets hope you get some more experienced people come and comment

I hatched three Splash Orpingtons at Easter, out of 10 eggs 6 were infertile and one did not make it full term so a 75% hatch rate for my first attempt.
I have no idea what sex mine are either I don't think this is a breed that can easily be identified early.

A pure guess says I have two Cockerels (the ones with grey legs) but it really is just a guess based on the fact that only the one with yellow legs (which we called Boris) ducks down if frightened.

Boris in the one in the centre here - might become Borisette!

They will be 8 weeks old at the weekend and are in the process of being introduced (from the safety of a small run) to the rest of the flock.
They were our first ever hatch and are our test birds that we are learning from, so far we have not killed them by kindness :)

Out of 44 original eggs we have another 29 assorted chickens in two incubators in lock down that are due to hatch midweek.
Then we start a new learning curve - managing a lot more poop! assuming 20+ hatch they won't be in the brooder long as it won't be big enough so as soon as they can do without heat they are going in here til they are 8 weeks old the ' Mk1 Super Tractor'. Currently being inspected by some test Chickens
