Hoping to get chickens soon (from Alabama)

Hey! Looks like I'm one of MANY new members today! I've been reading posts for a while, and decided to go ahead and join. Here in Auburn, Alabama, it looks like the zoning code may be changed soon to allow backyard chickens in the city limits, and I'm very excited!

I have a friend who lives outside the city who has a surplus of chickens right now, (Pullets? They're young females, hatched several weeks ago.) and she is holding a few for me until I can claim them. Until the law changes, I'll just have to be a chicken-mama wannabe!
