Hormonal Male Attack

[Love the Quail]

It looks like overnight one of our sweet quail, a male, who we think is a bit blind or very, very nearsighted got attacked viciously. He is not in the "hospital" and has received much love and affection from us (fell asleep in our hands and we just held him). We gently cleaned as best we could and put triple antibiotic on him, but he looks scalped.

Has anyone else dealt with this and any advice on how to doctor up this fellow?

Keep him clean and warm. He'll heal up just fine. Unfortunately, this happens fairly often if you have more than one male in a pen.

Agree with @Nabiki , it will heal up just fine, you don't have to put anything on the wound, unless you just want too! I find it causes more stress to treat them and really doesn't help that much. I've had them scalped to were you could see bone, and they healed over without any intervention on my part.
