Horrible, depressing, terrible, bad news.................

My silkie chick will probably die tonight

She is very lethargic and can't even stand any more. She was fine this morning. She was throwing up and she is gasping for air. I am sooooo depressed

This is the only down fall of raising chicks. I am really sad

That was a different chick with the intestines out. I culled it that night. This is a silkie. She is actually standing now. I hope she pulls through but..............
 
hey! i had a really similar thing with my BO chick! it came on suddenly, she had mucus grossness and was very lethargic. separate the chick from the others, give it water through an eyedropper, pray pray pray and pray more(!!!!) and sing to the poor lil thing. mine pulled through, maybe yours will too! it took about 4 or 5 days though..just dont give up hope. message me if youd like, maybe they had the same thing! i still have no idea what was wrong with her..
 
do you have an eye dropper to get water or pedialyte into it? I had to bottle feed orphan kittens that way. An URI will resond to Amoxicillan from any vet. I've rehabbed several critters that were almost dead when I got them.

the orphan kittens almost made my face swell up since I am allergic to them.
