We looked into the BLM horses awhile back. They have a web site that is pretty easy to navigate through. I think it is awesome that you would consider that. Do you have a trainer or know of a good one? The horses can sell for as little as $125. or so i think. It is on a bidding system. They have them in pens that you can view and then bid. They also have requirements, like land, barn?? stuff. If you have a good trainer this would be a great way to go. They need homes and the $$ goes to keeping this program/ them alive. Also look up mustang challenge. It will give you an idea of what is happening and what to prepare yourself for.
For us- we are in the middle of the pacific and flying over to look and bid then ship etc... was too much. Maybe another time. Some BEAUTIFUL horses :love
ok unfortunately there is no good trainers around me and the BLM horses are to far away I am located in north Carolina so we would have to fly and then have the horse shipped .
there is a killpin in ashville nc where a rescue post horsesfor sale in Hope's that someone will take them in I see way too many Mustang's end up there so maybe I could adopt one of those instead although I would love to adopt a Mustang

I think I joined the horse club a few months ago....I'm not sure.
Well, welcome!! Maybe again .
I think it goes like intro you and your horse (if have) @Butterscotchbitesfinger started this thread and lives across the pond in Australia. Cool yes? :D
PS. I loooove photos of anything pretty much... but horses if you got are the best.

I've been stalking the recent stories on this thread but not posting woops :p

I think rescuing a horse would be awesome; I hope you can find the right one @CJLR! My trainer has rescued retired Amish horses in the past, and I think rescuing would be the way I'd go if I were to get my own horse. A lesson horse I used to ride a lot used to be an Amish carthorse; she was the sweetest girl ever but sadly passed of colic the other week. :(
