Well, welcome!! Maybe again .
I think it goes like intro you and your horse (if have) @Butterscotchbitesfinger started this thread and lives across the pond in Australia. Cool yes? :D
PS. I loooove photos of anything pretty much... but horses if you got are the best.

Thank you for the welcome!

I don't own a horse yet, but I want to someday!

I've been stalking the recent stories on this thread but not posting woops :p

I think rescuing a horse would be awesome; I hope you can find the right one @CJLR! My trainer has rescued retired Amish horses in the past, and I think rescuing would be the way I'd go if I were to get my own horse. A lesson horse I used to ride a lot used to be an Amish carthorse; she was the sweetest girl ever but sadly passed of colic the other week. :(
sorry for your loss

Oh... I am so sorry for your loss :hugs. It is devastating to lose a big beautiful animal. So sad.
I know right? For the rescues. We helped to rescue, vet check and rehome those 5 somewhere back on this post (I'm still hopping for the colt that has not been born yet...) and I did find some gals (awhile back) who do horse etc rescues, I had forgotten about them till this post, I have called them for an abandoned Appy once. I should check in and donate some feed. They were pretty awesome gals and I am sure they can always use a hand. Pretty far for me to volunteer just yet, maybe in the future.
Bravo @CJLR for getting us all to think a little bigger... :thumbsup

Thank you both :hugs She wasn't even mine but I still felt so sad. I regret not riding her more, but what happened happened. I've always heard that colic is one of the biggest killers of horses, but I've never truly realized it until recently...Just a year or two ago my stables lost a different lesson horse to colic, too, and now Missy...So sad. I never got to ride Brit but he sounded like a wonderful horse.

That's wonderful you helped rescue those horses tropicalbabies, I remember your posts! They sound like great women for helping horses. :)

Yep, we have personally lost one to sand colic and have a few friends that have had problems. Bad business that colic.
I wish we could have adopted 1 or 2 of those rescues... (or 3 or 4 or all 5 lol). We are not set up for that yet and things can get real pricey for us to keep our horses on leased pasture, plus the time :p. Mt DH got sick and we lost our stride, just getting it back now. I have actually asked a young Hawaiian boy down the street if he would help me put some hours on Hombre. He rides but I would like to pull him in more. Maybe with his time and strong bones we can do more, fix some fences and increase grazing. Would be cool. Wish I had some of you young gals around to help do some riding and fence fixing too! :D
