Haven't been riding as much as I'd like lately, the weather has been sloppy and currently no access to an indoor ring but the boys are enjoying their off-season:) Hopefully everyone had a good holiday! And Happy New Year!

Hi all! I don't think I noticed this thread before - lovely to find a horsey one! I am based in the UK and my family keep four horses and ponies at the family home. One is my mare, Belle, who I retired early (she is unpredictable) then my Mum has an Appaloosa gelding called Noah (she doesn't ride him anymore either, she simply lost interest in riding but she loves him). We also have two ponies for my nieces, Boston and Domino, who are really cute.

Although I don't ride at home currently, I am an equestrian travel agent - I run a company with my mum organising horse riding holidays around the world. I have been fortunate to ride in many countries, testing trips or running group rides, and I've loved meeting and riding all kinds of wonderful horses. Horse riding is such a joyous escape from 'real life'.

I wish you and all your horses and chickens a very happy new year. I'll keep an eye on this thread to learn more about your equine pals! :)

Hi. I’m the OP of this thread. I only have one horse at the moment but my dad wants another. At the moment Australia is in a bushfire crisis so I haven’t been riding. The smoke has been to thick for that. I’m actually in the states right now on holidays. I completely agree with you when you say horse riding is an escape. Poor Hudson is loosing weight (not that that’s a really bad thing as he is a bit chubby) but I think he is a bit stressed being away from home. I personally think we need more Equine threads.

Welcome! So excited to meet you, it's so cool you're from the UK, it's one of the top places I want to travel to:) Can't wait to hear more about Belle, Noah, Boston and Domino! Happy New Year to you as well.

Hi OP! I've been so sorry to hear about the crisis you guys have over in Australia, my heart breaks for everyone involved as it's a terrible situation. I can't imagine it! I hope it ends soon and that you're enjoying your time in the US. Thanks for the great thread!
